Passport and Nepal Visa

All participants on the Nepal team must have a valid PASSPORT that does not expire before May 22, 2009.

Participants must have a Nepal VISA before entering the country. Obtaining a visa on arrival takes hourrrssssss! And it doesn't save you any money.
Cost: $40 (NOTE: as of July 18, this is an increase from what was posted before)

You need one passport photo, no more than 6 months old, for the visa. (If you are having photos taken, have several done. You may want them for other visas for extended travel. Also, having one or two extra along can sometimes be helpful.)

To download and print a Nepal visa application, go to www.traveldocs.com/np/index.htm

It is only one page. There are instructions of where to mail it, along with your passport (NY or Washington, DC). Allow a few weeks for this process. I suggest using FedEx to mail it, with a return mailer and pay whatever it takes to insure safe passage for your passport!

You can use a travel document agency if you prefer. You still have to mail them your passport and visa application. They just hand carry it to the embassy and make sure the visa is obtained. Costs about an additional $45. If you are interested in this kind of service, that same website can give you more information.
